On July 1st, Pastor Ken Aker was appointed as the new Pastor at First Church Greencastle. Pastor Aker has been serving as a Methodist minister for the past 5 years. Prior to Greencastle, he was the Orrtanna Charge Pastor serving at Orrtanna, Mount Hope and Mount Carmel United Methodist Churches in Adams County.
Pastor Ken is a firm believer in the Methodist core beliefs of do no harm, do good, and attend upon all the ordinances of God (read your bible, attend church, partake in communion, spend time in prayer). He also believes that the bible is the living breathing, infallible Word of God. He is excited to see where the Holy Spirit will be leading the church in the years to come. Pastor Ken and his wife Diane have been married 29 years and have two daughters. |

Kurtis Himmelberger is a passionate, dedicated follower of Christ Jesus seeking to serve as a pastor and servant.
Kurtis was born and raised in church, attending the Royersford (PA) Church of the Nazarene under the wonderful leadership of many faithful believers. In 2009, God gifted Kurtis a wonderful wife in Tori. They submitted their family to God's nudging toward the mission field of foster care. They currently have 5 children: two by birth and three through adoption. They have also been abundantly blessed to have several other children in their home over the past seven years who called them "Mom and Dad". God has truly sowed a passion in them for the "least of these" and it has grown to span far beyond their family fostering ministry.
When not studying or cheerfully moseying his way down a Biblical rabbit trail, Kurtis can be found at the river with his fishing pole, hiking with his family, on youth group events or building a diverse range of friendships with members of his community. He also enjoys light carpentry, blacksmithing and playing around on his guitar or mandolin.
